Contract on House ALREADY

We have had our house on the market all but 5 days and we already have a contract on it. The feedback from the realtors has been that everyone falls in love with the shop. WOO HOO. I pray everything goes through within the next 30 days. I couldn't be more elated right now!!

craigslist rocks

I just sold my first item on craigslist!! I didn't really want to get rid of it but it's too big for our living room. I sold my coffee table that I paid $400 for 6 years ago and sold it for $200. The lady that bought it just called me to tell me how much she loves it. It took one day to sell. They were shocked at how heavy it was, even though I put on the post that it weighed 108 lbs. I also never realized how strong my husband has made me by helping him with all his car stuff. How many girls do you know that help lift and move engines and car parts? I lifted up the table to help the ladies husband carry it and he could barely hold it 2 inches above the ground. I had it above my waist. I was surprised because he was NOT a scrawny guy. Now, because I parted with it, I can buy more seating for our front room....probably a loveseat. But, we have to either sell our La house first or I need to get a job! :) Hopefully both will happen soon!

There are still a few things (like the moulding stacked in the corner of the kitchen, the stuff that needs to be moved out that we didn't have room in the truck for, etc) that bother me in the pics but I guess I can't have it perfect. I wish they would have gotten better pics of the master bath too. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers!

House listed today!

Our house will finally be listed today. Sandy Ogburn's office called me this am that they are taking pictures, putting the signs out, and lockbox on. FINALLY!!! Thankfully, we got most of what we needed to get done this weekend on it. There are still a few things that need to be moved but at least it's clean and clear enough to be shown now. We forget it's not a model home and tend to expect perfection from ourselves. :( Hopefully, it will sell as quickly as the realtor thinks it will. She was very enthusiastic about selling it.

Iggy warning signs

On our drive home late last night, Iggy began to try to get in the front seat with us about 2 hours from Gonzales. This was strange to us because he normally sleeps the entire way. He also NEVER tried to get in the front seat. He LOVES riding in the car. We kept pushing him back. Then, he began panting more and more heavily. Of course we were very concerned. We immediately exited off the interstate. As soon as Steve opened Iggy's door, he jumped out and started peeing in the parking lot on the concrete. Poor dog couldn't even make it to the grass. Let me give you some background on boxers and how clean they are...they cannot stand to be dirty. He will not pee on the concrete b/c he would be standing in it. I felt so awful that he had to go so bad that he was panting like a pregnant lady in labor. Now that we look back on it, its a bit funny. I blame myself b/c I gave him water when we stopped at our normal half way point. I always give him water but this time he drank it all! We are also VERY thankful that he is so well potty trained. It was like he was saying"hurry hurry pull over I gotta goooooo.!"

It's about time

I finally hung all the birds that I embroidered two weeks ago. We've only been in this house since October. I think it's finally time to get some pictures on the walls. Thanks to my Mother in law, I used her commercial embroidery machine. Mine would have taken an hour a bird to stitch. It took about 10 minutes per bird on hers. One of these days, I will have a fast machine too. I think they turned out pretty nice in my bargain dollar tree frames! :)

Marathon Painting Weekend nearly over

Thank God, our marathon painting weekend is nearly over. I have one more coat to put on the back door and I am done. We painted the entire exterior of the house and shop. Took down all the trim around the shop and shutters on the house. I primed and painted all of that yesterday. Touched up today and painted more trim on the shop that didn't need to be repaired. The house looks better than it ever did while Steve owned it. Someone lucky is going to have a very nice house. We will be back next weekend to do some more cleaning and hopefully will be calling Mr. Paul the following weekend to get it listed!!! MUSIC TO MY EARS. I thought I'd never hear that phrase. List it! List it! I am so ready!!!!

Doggie bath

I just finished bathing Iggy by myself for the first time. I wasn't quite sure if I was going to be able to lift Mr. 75 lbs by myself to get him in and out of the tub. Luckily he's the best dog ever. He did get a little shaky b/c he was scared (I don't normally lift him up). But once he was in the tub, he was great. I really am spoiled by him as my first dog. He sits still and lets us bath him. And he LOVES LOVES LOVES the blow dryer. He comes running in the bathroom every morning when I dry my hair and sits next to me waiting for his turn. He's so silly! I did get scratched by him after but that's only b/c we were playing with his stuffed scooby doo. Guess I need to do his nails too. I seem to do his nails more often that I do my own. What 's up with that!?

Back home in Texas

I'm so glad to be back home. The #1 reason is my sinuses don't act up here like the do in La. I was sick all last week. I was so happy when I woke up this am and could breathe out of my nose!! ahhhh. I also finally got a good night's sleep in my own bed at my own house without the dog! All week he slept with me and would eventually push me to the edge of the bed every night. 75 lbs of dead weight is not easy to move. As I speak, he's curled up on my feet snoring. He's so darn needy. :)

We did make some good progress on the house. I got almost all the pressure washing done. I have 2 sections of concrete left to do. Steve repaired all the facia and eves on the house that needed to be. We'll be back next weekend to prime and paint the exteroir. Hopefully, then we can contact our realtor to list it. I'm so ready to sell this thing and actually go back home solely to visit and not work. Besides the fact that we are ready to stop paying two house notes. It will be nice to actually have some spending money...guess I should get a job ;)
