Texas Rainbows

After a full day of terrible rain and thunderstorms, we walked out with Iggy once the rain stopped. There was a huge beautiful rainbow. The left side shines down on running cattle. The right side shines down on the Texas and American flags.

Lessons in sunscreen

I think I've learned my lesson of the importance in wearing sunscreen when mowing the yard for 2 hours. Guess I'm not dark like I used to be when I was younger. Sad how that happens. I used to have nice brown olive skin. Now, it's pale yellow olive skin because of years of working in cube farms under flourescent lights. I promise I will never mow the yard again without using sunscreen. Thankfully, I had my big hat on so my face and ears are not burned :)

Stained Glass Class

I started a stained glass class last Saturday. I've been cutting out my paper pattern and all my glass pieces. Here are pics I took along the way.

Italian Restaurant

Steve and I found this awesome Italian restaurant in downtown Bellville, TX when we moved here. The chef was from Italy and the food tasted like it was too. It is the BEST italian I've ever had. So, we drove to Bellville tonight to go eat. Lo and behold! The restaurant is closed!?!!?! For rent signs on the doors and windows. I shed a tear. It's a sad sad night. :(

Latest creation

Here's the latest apron I made. For some reason I fought with this one. It took 2 days for me to finish but it turned out very nice. I'm in love with this black material. The yellow material actually has tiny butterflies on it, which matches the big print that has big butterflies if you look closely.

Tired of being inside

It's been raining all morning. Iggy's been dying to go out but would never go past the back porch because of the rain. Well, it finally stopped and the sun came out. So, I let him out. I went out to check on him and this is what I found. Guess he was happy to be outside.

Iggy sleeping with the remote

Steve always swears that Iggy sits back in the recliner and watches tv while we are gone. Last week, I was on the laptop and look over and Iggy is snoring with the remote in his paw. It was too funny! I got up to snap a pic, but it woke him up. So, this is the best I could get.

June Cleaver

I think I outdid myself on cuteness on this one. However, the red and white Gingham looks weird on the web. I can't use photoshop b/c my laptop is so messed up right now. So you will just have to imagine it clearer :)

Closing set

Our closing is finally scheduled for Thursday (in two days) at 4 pm. YAY! I'm still keeping my fingers crossed until then. I'm just happy to finally have a date. It will be quite a relief to only have one house in one state to worry about! :)

Iris bloom

My beautiful Iris finally bloomed. I got to enjoy it for a few days before it shriveled up. These flowers were originally planted by my grandmother in her yard. My mom took some to each house they lived in. I took some from my mom's to every house I've lived in too. So, these are a well traveled species.
